There are many types of adhesives, different components, and therefore different uses. Therefore, its classification methods are also diverse. What are the main classification methods?
1, classified by shape
Adhesives can be divided into: aqueous solution, solution type, emulsion (latex) type, solvent-free type, solid type, and paste and putty.
2, classified by chemical composition
1) Inorganic adhesives: including silicates, phosphates, borates, ceramics and low melting metals.
2) Organic adhesives: including natural and synthetic lines. The natural system includes starch series, protein series, natural resin series, natural rubber series, and asphalt series; the synthetic system includes resin type and rubber type (chloroprene rubber, nitrile rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, butyl rubber, Polysulfide rubber, carboxyl rubber, silicone rubber, thermoplastic rubber) and composite type. Among them, the resin type includes thermoplastics (polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl acetal, polyacrylate, cellulose, saturated polyester, polyurethane, etc.) and thermosetting (urea resin, aldehyde resin, phenolic) Resin, resorcinol formaldehyde resin, epoxy resin, unsaturated polyester, etc.).
3. Classified by source
Adhesives can be divided into natural adhesives and synthetic adhesives according to the source. The former such as animal skin, bone, blood glue, plant starch, natural rubber, rosin rubber, etc. are all natural adhesives. They have been developed and applied for thousands of years, but the strength is not ideal. The latter began with the emergence of synthetic polymers at the beginning of this century, and its performance is superior. It has formed cheap varieties such as urea-formaldehyde, phenolic aldehyde, honey aldehyde, polyvinyl acetate emulsion, synthetic rubber cement, polyacrylate, and varieties with various characteristics. And has been widely applied and promoted. |
